Ariana Grande stars as Cat, an eccentric student at Hollywood Arts High School who feels an instant kinship with Tori.
Ariana brings an enthusiasm and charm, which comes to life on stage, television and in her music. Most recently, she created the original role of Miriam in the reading of the new musical, Cuba Libre, written and produced by Desmond Child, the pop-rock composer whose hits include: Katy Perry's "Waking Up In Vegas" and Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer," as well as others.
She made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the original role of Charlotte in 13 the musical, for which she won a National Youth Theatre Association Award in 2009. Comprised of an all-teenage cast and band, 13 boasts an unforgettable pop rock score from Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown, and choreography by Christopher Gatelli.
Additionally, no stranger to music, Ariana has recently worked on recordings with pop music's greatest Grammy Award-winning composers such as Diane Warren, Desmond Child, Billy Steinberg, and Matthew Gerrard. She has also collaborated with Grammy Award-winning producer Ken Lewis, on an original song that they co-wrote together. Furthermore, she has been a soloist with various symphonies including South Florida's Philharmonic, Pops and Symphonia Orchestras, and has had repeated appearances singing at NYC's own Birdland. Ariana performed the National Anthem for the first LIVE ESPN broadcast of the Anthem for the Florida Panther's hockey league.
Always searching for ways to contribute, most recently in the Summer of 2009, as a member of the charitable organization, Broadway in South Africa, Ariana performed and taught music and dance to children in Gugulethu, South Africa. Also, at the age of 10, Ariana founded the youth singing group, Kids Who Care, in South Florida, which performed for charitable fund-raising events, raising over $500,000 for charities in 2007 alone.
